Peer Review Process

AL-KAMILAH: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam Interdisipliner applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of published manuscripts. The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

1. Initial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editor to assess their:

  • Relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
  • Compliance with the journal's author guidelines and template.
  • Academic quality and originality.
  • Research methodology and ethical considerations.
  • Similarity and potential plagiarism.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected before peer review.

2. Reviewer Selection

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two qualified reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are selected based on their academic background, research expertise, and absence of conflicts of interest with the authors.

3. Double-Blind Review

The journal uses a double-blind review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and significance of the research.
  • Clarity of research objectives and research questions.
  • Theoretical framework and literature review.
  • Appropriateness of research methods.
  • Quality and presentation of results.
  • Discussion and interpretation of findings.
  • Relevance to Islamic Religious Education and interdisciplinary perspectives.
  • Quality of references and academic writing.
  • Overall contribution to the field.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor may make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

The final decision is made by the editor after considering the reviewers' comments and the overall quality and relevance of the manuscript.

5. Revision

Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers' comments. Authors should provide a clear response to each substantive comment and submit the revised manuscript within the specified period.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

6. Final Decision and Publication

After the manuscript meets the journal's academic and editorial standards, the editor will issue the final acceptance decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout, and publication.

7. Review Confidentiality and Ethics

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and must not use unpublished information for personal or professional purposes. Reviewers must also disclose any potential conflict of interest and decline the review when appropriate.

The journal may take appropriate action if any violation of publication ethics is identified during or after the review process.
