Author Guidelines
IJIM: International Journal of Islamic Educational Management welcomes original scholarly works addressing Islamic educational management in contemporary social, technological, and digital contexts. Manuscripts must be relevant to the journal's Focus and Scope and demonstrate clear academic contribution.
1. Types of Manuscripts
IJIM accepts:
- Original Research Articles
- Theoretical and Conceptual Articles
- Systematic or Critical Literature Reviews
- Scholarly Perspectives
Manuscripts should demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, theoretical relevance, and a clear contribution to Islamic educational management.
2. Originality
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not simultaneously submitted to another journal. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct are prohibited.
3. Language
Manuscripts should be written in English using clear and appropriate academic language.
4. Manuscript Structure
Research articles should generally contain:
- Title
- Author Information and Affiliation
- Abstract (approximately 200–250 words)
- Keywords (4–6 keywords)
- Introduction
- Literature Review/Theoretical Framework
- Methodology
- Results/Findings
- Discussion
- Theoretical and Practical Implications
- Conclusion
- Limitations, where appropriate
- References
The introduction should clearly identify the research problem, research gap, objectives, and contribution. The discussion should relate findings to relevant theories and previous studies.
5. Research Quality and Novelty
Submitted manuscripts should demonstrate:
- a clear research gap;
- appropriate theoretical engagement;
- rigorous methodology;
- credible evidence and analysis;
- meaningful findings;
- theoretical and/or practical implications; and
- a clear contribution or novelty.
Claims should be supported by appropriate evidence and should not exceed the scope of the research.
6. Research Ethics
Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards. Where required, authors should obtain ethical approval and informed consent.
Authors must protect participant confidentiality and personal data.
7. Authorship
All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript and must approve the final version.
All authors should be identified correctly at submission. Changes to authorship after submission require justification and agreement from all affected authors.
8. Artificial Intelligence
AI tools may be used responsibly to assist research or manuscript preparation. However:
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors;
- authors remain fully responsible for the manuscript;
- AI-generated information must be checked and verified;
- AI must not be used to fabricate data, references, or findings; and
- substantial use of generative AI should be disclosed.
9. Citations and References
Authors must accurately cite all sources used in the manuscript.
The journal uses APA 7th Edition. Authors are encouraged to use recent, relevant, peer-reviewed international literature and DOI information where available.
Citation manipulation and excessive self-citation are prohibited.
10. Data Transparency
Authors should provide sufficient information about data sources, instruments, and analytical procedures. Where data cannot be shared because of ethical, privacy, or institutional restrictions, the limitation should be stated.
11. Conflict of Interest and Funding
Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and all sources of research funding.
If there is no conflict of interest, authors should state:
"The authors declare no conflict of interest."
12. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must be relevant, clearly numbered, titled, and referred to in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for ensuring that copyrighted materials are used appropriately.
13. Peer Review
IJIM uses an external peer-review process. Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
Editorial decisions may include:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors must respond appropriately to reviewer comments when submitting revisions.
14. Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted through the official IJIM OJS.
Authors should ensure that:
- the manuscript follows the IJIM template;
- all authors are correctly identified;
- OJS metadata matches the manuscript;
- ethical requirements have been fulfilled; and
- all required declarations have been completed.
15. Publication Ethics
Authors must comply with the IJIM Publication Ethics policy, including policies concerning plagiarism, research misconduct, authorship, conflicts of interest, peer review, AI use, corrections, and retractions.
16. Copyright and Publication Charges
Copyright, licensing, and any applicable publication charges are governed by the policies published on the IJIM website. The journal does not permit hidden publication fees.
17. Author Submission Checklist
Before submission, authors should confirm that:
☐ The manuscript fits the IJIM Focus and Scope.
☐ The manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere.
☐ The research gap and contribution are clear.
☐ The methodology is appropriate and clearly explained.
☐ Research ethics requirements have been addressed.
☐ All sources are properly cited using APA 7th Edition.
☐ Conflicts of interest and funding are disclosed.
☐ AI use is disclosed where applicable.
☐ The manuscript follows the IJIM template.
☐ All authors have approved the submission.
