Plagiarism Policy
IJIM: International Journal of Islamic Educational Management is committed to maintaining academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of unethical academic practice.
All submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or substantial textual similarity using appropriate plagiarism-detection software.
Similarity and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that manuscripts are original and that all ideas, statements, data, and works derived from other sources are properly cited and acknowledged.
The journal considers the following practices unacceptable:
- direct copying without appropriate citation;
- substantial unattributed paraphrasing;
- duplicate or redundant publication;
- inappropriate reuse of previously published material;
- fabrication or falsification of sources or references; and
- plagiarism of text, data, figures, tables, or other intellectual materials.
Similarity Threshold
As a general guideline, IJIM expects manuscripts to have a similarity index below 20%. However, the similarity percentage is not the sole basis for determining plagiarism. The editorial team evaluates the nature, source, and context of the similarity.
References, quotations, common phrases, and properly cited material may contribute to the similarity score but do not automatically constitute plagiarism.
Editorial Action
If plagiarism or significant academic misconduct is identified, the journal may:
- request clarification or revision from the authors;
- reject the manuscript;
- suspend the review or publication process;
- retract a published article when necessary; and
- take other appropriate action in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
Authors are fully responsible for the originality and integrity of their submitted manuscripts.
